Yep, it’s me again. A few years ago, we lived next to a family that found out that I was Jewish. They could not stop talking about how they loved the Jewish people and how glad they were to have us as neighbors and that they attended a church just down the street.
I told the dad that I and my family were Jewish believers in Yeshua (Jesus), and I invited them to worship with us at our Temple. They seemed happy to accept our invitation at first but canceled at the last minute. Well, the bottom fell out of our relationship fast after that, and we could not figure it out! Over time, our friendly neighbors became rude and very un-neighborly.
A while back, we at Down Home Shalom were asked to be guests on a local religious TV show. There was a guest host on that night, and we sat off-camera for almost two hours while the guest host interviewed a non-Jewish couple concerning Israel and the Jewish people! When we were finally brought on (for the last eight minutes!), the host acknowledged us and then finished the show with the previous guests while we sat smiling like so much window dressing.
My point is simple. If you claim to love the Jewish people and you wonder why it is soooo hard to gain our trust, and you really want to share the plan of salvation with us, then BE SINCERE AND SHOW IT!! Don’t waste your time, our time, or most importantly, G-D’S TIME!!! If you want to help fulfill scripture according to ROMANS 1:16 and ROMANS 11, then get prayed up, get sincere and get ready to spend the time to carry out G-D’S will! Then you will be a blessing to others in HIS NAME and you will be blessed for it!
